Our Vision

IMG_6395.JPG

Our vision is to show that no matter the starting point or who we are before Christ, through Christ we are new creations, and although our walks might look different, and the crosses we bear might not be the same, to follow Christ, we must bear our crosses and put our faith in him.

With our main vision to continue to support mission trips, a percentage of the profit from the sale of each cross is going towards funding future mission trips. With the continued distribution of free crosses in countries such as Rwanda and Uganda.

The Cross

And he said to all, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me."

Luke 9:23
Each cross tells a story of transformation. Taking pieces of wood most see as useless waste and carving them into reminders of the redemptive power of Christ and the change he brings to our lives. It is important for us to remember the sacrifice Christ made on the cross for our sins, washing us clean and allowing us to be reconciled to God when we put our faith in him and follow him. These cross necklaces are to serve as reminders that we are called to take up our cross daily and follow Christ.
In 2024, as I prepared for my first mission trip, I decided to make some cross necklaces as a thank you to the supporters of the previous mission trip. I brought the remaining crosses on the trip with me to give away as prizes. After seeing how much people wanted a necklace of their own, I knew I had to bring more the next time. In 2025, I made more crosses to help raise funds for the next mission trip and more to give away. While working on the crosses, I came up with the idea of this company, and as I listened to Johnny Cash sing "The Old Rugged Cross", I knew I had the name for the company. Then in 2026, I created The Old Rugged Cross Company.
